KLONDIKE DREAMIN'

Rodeo waits for the snow to build as he contemplates 1100 miles of mushing.

Handler Cabin

The handler cabin is 16' x 12', is heated by wood stove, and has no water or power. The barrel stove out front is used to cook wild game meat for the dogs.

Rodeo's Dog Truck

Rodeo's truck has a 16-hole dog box and can carry up to 32 dogs.

Kennel

The dogs have a great view from their new kennel on top of Ogden Mountain.

Cobra's Wound

Cobra's wound has healed nicely and he is back in action.

Annie Mae

Annie filled in for Cobra while he was injured. She actually talks with her ears.

Creole

Creole has finished the Iditarod on John Barron's team.

Roper

Roper is a 55 pound male and a new addition to Klondike dreams.

Slate

Slate is a new addition to Klondike Dreams. He is out of John Barron's kennel.

Puppies

These puppies are only 3 months old and will not be ready to run until next season.

There are two litters of puppies in this pen. One litter is out of Tiffany and Casper, and the other is out of Racket and Porno.

Pinky's Puppies

These puppies are out of Pinky and Cobra. They are 5 months old, and we will be harness breaking them at the end of this racing season.

Picking Up Poop

Picking up poop doesn't pay very well, but there is plenty of job security.

The Gold Rush mining camp that sprang up in 1910 and blossomed overnight into a big city on the flatlands near the Innoko and Iditarod Rivers

First Avenue, Iditarod (1911)

The trail takes its name from the Athabascan Indian village near the site of a 1908 gold discovery.

Goodwin Survey Party (1911)

The trail was officially surveyed by the U.S. Army's Alaska Road Commission in 1908-11, and dubbed the Seward to Nome Mail Trail.

Fort Harrison

The war dog training at Camp Rimini, (on base at Fort Harrison,) west of Helena, and it's part in Montana history is commemorated by the Race To The Sky.
